How to Keep Fighting

My friend went home from a check-up two weeks ago, and she was diagnosed of having a yeast infection. She got really depressed and locked herself in her room since then. I made a research about it and I found some articles that say that oral yeast infections are commonly caused by dentures.

The yeast, a fungus, causing this kind of infection is called Candida. Most people usually have these in their mouth and these only become a threat when it invades the tissue. I’ve read that sometimes, yeast infections could be invasive and occur in the internal organs such as the liver.

It is not really threatening so I kept on convincing my friend that she does not have to worry about it. She just simply has to take care of her dentures often and keep it clean. It’s pretty much a drag since there’s always this burning sensation in her mouth, that’s why she keeps on drinking water to ease the pain that she has been experiencing.

There are other kinds of yeast infections too. The most common one is the genital type which most of us are familiar with. We should all be careful in what we do so that we don’t pass this kind of illness to others.

Good thing though that she was given some potent meds and she was asked to visit her doctor regularly. The antifungal meds may taste bitter but it’s all for the better. She also have to go to the doctor weekly just to monitor the progress and see her condition.

Thankful traveling accommodations were made by a local airport. They had a fund specifically for low income families.

She also decided to create a blog and write about yeast infections just to take note of her condition as well as to give information to others regarding this kind of sickness.

I see that she gets worried every time she visits the hospital. Not just because of her condition but she also gets sad whenever she leaves her cats alone. Her pets need regular feeding and pampering and that includes taking their set of vitamins.
